Voices of Women in Art = Inside and Out speaks of the voices of the inner spirit, voices that describe unique visions and find expression through art. Those voices originate in the inner, deeper, layers of one’s self and become an outer expression in visual language. Voices of Women: Many women’s voices resonating as one, Inside and Out: flipping the unseen interior to the visible surface, each with their own vision and as a whole.
The exhibition includes paintings, works on paper, and sculptures, presented in a virtual exhibition, as well as live art performances in Central Park, New York City. The exhibition celebrates the reopening of the 1922 Gallery, a space that strives to empower artists, with a focus on women in the arts.
The online exhibition will go live on October 20th at www.1922Gallery.com
Live performances are scheduled for October 23, 2021, 3 pm – 5 pm at Diana Ross Lawn, behind Diana Ross Playground in Central Park, NYC.
This event was possible thanks in part to the New York City Artist Corps Grant, and thanks to the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs (@NYCulture), The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA), the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA), with support from the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) and Queens Theatre.
